Andrew Altizer, MSc. RPA

Owner and Lead Geoscientist

Sterling Geoscientific is a veteran-owned startup founded by Andrew Altizer, a disabled veteran with a strong foundation in marine geosciences. With a degree in Archaeology and a Master’s in Geosciences from Texas A&M University, Andrew brings over 7 years of experience in conducting high-priority and complex maritime projects. His expertise lies in managing technically demanding operations that require precision and strategic problem-solving, ensuring successful outcomes in challenging environments. As a dedicated father, Andrew is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the world we live in, striving to create sustainable solutions that benefit both current and future generations.  

Experience:

Andrew leads all field and reporting operations at S-GEO. Below is a selection of notable projects  he has contributed to: 

 • Galveston Bay Sub Sea Cable (2025): Contract awarded to SGEO, Project Manager for Phase 1 Submerged Cultural  Resources Assessment.  


• Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (2024): Party Chief and MetOcean Geoscientist for Dominion Energy’s acoustic  monitoring deployments.  


• Vineyard Mid-Atlantic (2023): Lead Geoscientist performing QA/QC on geophysical and archaeological data.  


• NCDOT Nine Foot Shoal (2023): Maritime archaeological survey and data interpretation for the North Carolina DOT.  


• FDOT District Two (2023): Principal Investigator for maritime cultural survey and analysis in Duval County, FL.  


• Ørsted Ocean Wind 02 (2023): Cultural resource support and reporting for offshore wind farm in New Jersey.  


• Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind (2023): Lead geoscientist on windfarm export cable corridor in NY/NJ.  


• Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (2022): Geoscientist for recovery project in Trinidad and Tobago.  


• Queen Isabella Reef Project (2022): Maritime archaeological survey for Texas Parks & Wildlife.  


• Pelican Key, Mississippi (2022): Phase I cultural resource survey for Mississippi DMR.  


• St. Johns County, Florida (2022): Remote sensing analysis for USACE dredge corridor survey.  


• Revolution Wind (2022): MARA analysis and QMA services for offshore wind surveys.  


• NASA Environmental Assessment, Puerto Rico (2019): Orbital remote sensing of mangrove habitats.
